About

Lark Wildlife Research was founded by bat biologist Laura Kaupas. Laura has studied bats in western Canada since 2012, examining many aspects of bat ecology including diet, roosting and foraging habitat and behaviour, morphology, and thermoregulation. She has her Master’s degree in bat ecology from the University of Calgary, and has worked many contracts for government and non-government organizations.

The spread of white-nose syndrome and the loss of habitat has led to an increased need to learn about the bat species and populations that are critical to ecosystem integrity in western Canada. Lark Wildlife Research is accepting contracts for bat research, including capture and acoustic surveying, population counts, habitat assessment, monitoring programs, and more. See the services available here.

Lark Wildlife Research is based in Golden, BC. For inquiries for work across Canada, please contact Laura at laura@larkwildlife.ca.
